Max seems to be very conservative in the last few corners, staying well away from any potential track limits, doing well though given it’s not on the edge
conservative compared to who exactly?
Most but it was only for his sq1 and sq2 laps, he went for it on SQ3, it was likely due to having no medium running so no point risking it

I mean were you watching RUS, LEC, NOR through there? These are who you should compared VER with.

The bigger question for tomorrow is race pace and tyre wear. They were far from the best in that regard and that is what matters really.
I hope the better balance will help with that, too.
well, very possible tomorrow will be Max final chance to win a race, well...sort of...this year.
I think this will only be known after this weekend, if the team has sorted the balance out than it will give Max a lot more confidence with that car. I can’t see us winning vegas as we just don’t have a rear wing for those races, however Mexico is a good equaliser with altitude, Qatar may suit red bull if this trend in high speed corners continues

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, I made that comment prior to SQ3, I just think he was playing safe which is sensible

RedBull definitely fired the wrong driver! There’s no way in hell Daniel would be 1 second slower than Max!

Youre right it'd be more! Realistically they are looking for someone better than Perez but more consistent than Ricciardo to go alongside max. If Tsunoda/Lawson aren't that either then I suspect they'll turn to a driver outside RB like Russell

In none of the SQs, Max drove anywhere near the limit in T19 and T20. He seems to not want any risk and probably will push to the limit in these corners only in Saturday's Q3. Compared to Max, everyone else was on the limit/edge for T19 and T20.

He was 0.9s slower than Max in Mexico once on a much shorter race track, which would be more than one sec on such longer track as COTA. So, its wholly possible.

Lawson/Tsunoda should be promoted for 2025. Whoever is better at the last remaining races between the two.
Then bring Colapinto to their place.

everyone, true. Alonso and Piastri in particular, let alone Albon. what are you talking about. who everyone> where? we just saw P2 lap of Russell who wasn't nearly on the white line in 19.

Didn't he lose pole at T20 last year due to track limits? He's been burnt before :D

Not likely, Daniel only gets faster when you give him a better car. Daniel was doing a better job than Perez in the RB in the first half of the season, despite the car being a dog!

Great driving by Max. Watched his lap closely, amazing stuff in s1, right on the limit in the S section. Its still only sprint qualy. Now please dont change the setup on saturday.
