Now it's 2021 all over again, but worse because of Ferrari pace.
Such championships 'battles' when only one of the two championship rivals has a chance to win throughout the most of the season suck.

Qatar is our only saving circuit with lots of medium-high speed corners. Its hard to watch this, Max cant fight with that car, end of the story. The gap could be less than 30 points with 3 races to go. Really sad, dont know what to say anymore.

Our only hope is Ferrari, really hoping they can win again and take the points away from Mclaren.
Our only hope is Max, not Qatar and not the Ferrari, who will only take more points away from Max. Would be much better if they weren't as fast and Max could just finish 2nd or even 3rd not risking too much.
We, as his fans shouldn't be too sad about this situation, even if the racing, or shall we say the races aren't really fun to watch, knowing before the weekend even starts there is basically no chance to fight for a win.
Because this is truly unique situation this year. If he wins this championship in this RB20 car it will cement him truly as the goat if not forever, but for a very long time until the next prodigy shows up and does even better. Even if he retires in the end of the year. If not, then it wasn't meant to be, tough luck.

This weekend the relative forces are the worst possible, Ferrari are faster but not enough to beat McLaren, so it'll be many points lost, but we knew that.

The best hope is that the thunderstorms on Sunday mean the medical helicopter cannot fly.
Yes, you are right as usual.. This is the best hope indeed. LOL. But I would still prefer to watch the race irrespective of outcome, especially wet one.

Wet race would be nice. Throws a curveball.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

So far it is kind of what has been expected from this weekend. The only bad development is that Ferrari doesn't look to be on the level of McLaren. It is really worst case scenario, if McLaren is clearly ahead of Ferrari, while the reds still gap Red Bull. It will be interesting to see the race pace on the sprint. Although we have seen in Austin that even that is not very representative for the full race.

I also expect the British camp (stewards, media etc) to keep full pressure on Verstappen as now they start to smell blood. It will be 2021 all over again by the end.

This is indeed shoking, for me at least. I thought they were going to keep pretending of being impartial. Nah, why bother they thought.

lol weather forecast got awful for tomorrow, apparently it will be raining all day long, and pouring during the GP....not sure it'll be enough to get the race canceled though(which would be a tremendous gift for Max), but maybe it's worth gambling on a full wet setup.

ps quite impossible to surf the forum these days.

Well, the forecast I just checked gives rain before the race and only light showers/drizzle during the race. Based on that I'd expect a wet circuit with drying racing line.

the forecasts look very different currently., yeah Accuweather for example has the rain to stop at 12, YR and weather.com have it at its worst for start time (2pm)

Are you sure this would be a gift for Max? As i remember it when it's pouring they will run a single lap behind the safety car and that's it.

that would mean 0 points for everyone nowadays, so certainly be good for Verstappen.

In general, it's hard to say. I guess in the dry Norris would win and Verstappen fight the Mercedes for 5th, so something around a 15 points loss. In the wet, either of them can potentially gain or lose 25 points, as slippery as the track is likely to be.

Crazy in 1 one day forecast went from dry to moderate rain and more than 20 mm. If it happens is gonna be a lottery. I wouldnt have anything against to cancel the race.
