Ferrari F10

Ferrari and BMW did look strong in winter 08.

As far as the actual car and the team is concerned, I sincerely hope they are moving in the right direction, and have a car fully capable of fighting for a win in Bahrain. Currently, I do not see anything to deny this happening.

My beef is how Monty manipulates the media and the loyal Ferrari fan base.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I'm a loyal Fan and have been for a long time. I've always thought Luca di was a dick-head, but it didn't stop me from appreciating Mike's great achievements, along with Brawn, Todt and the rest of their posse. Every once in a while I like to break out my copy of Monza 2006. Mike announced his retirement and simultaneously shined Luca on big time, and accepted congrats from Todt, Connie and the crew. I love that scene. Luca is not, and never will be bigger than “The Scuderia”
I've got something he can manipulate

Nice point of view. It is clearly can be seen that what bulky sidepods at the front are actually very elegant at the back. Sidepods are also very deeply undercut.

that transmission bulge seems rather large, did they jack it up in order to have a huge scoop under it?

would you want to raise the CofG for the diffuser? I think maybe it looks large because of the way the bodywork shrinks at the rear?

Actually it has been reported that teams have been doing that exact thing... aero seems to be very much more important than CofG these days... see the highly raised noses(and driver's legs) of every car on the grid for proof of that very point.

yes, it certainly seems like that this year, but last year, one of the reported reasons why the brawns did so well was because the had a low nose holding ballast.

I did say 'one of the reasons'. Toyota and Williams both started with the diffusers too, but look where they ended up. Sure the DDD's were a performance differentiator, but they weren't the only thing making the Brawns fast.

I dont doubt what you are saying, I just neevr put too much weight into those "nose ballast" reports, maybe to my detriment... so how much ballast about did they have in the nose and why didnt they put it lower like in the front wing?

Re: Ferrari F10

its more about the slicks favoring front grip, so brawn put 30kgs of ballast(i heard) in the nose and a further 10kgs in the centre of the wing so the car has a 48:52 balance

diffuser is about unfavoring front end grip, so DDD + heavy nose contributed to their success

as the season went on it is clear that more downforce were found in the front which means that if u can put more into the front the better the car will be

toyota and william were 3 tenth down on engines alone, otherwise they had great cars

I'm sorry but I have to call BS on this, no offence Mike... but a 40kg(80+lb) nose cone change would be a comedy to watch.

Have you seen the huge chuck of densonite(15kg) ON THE SPEEDTV SPOT WITH rbr?

But I gthink we are going too far OT.
