I don't think 130R is doable with a stalled wing. I checked the telemetry at the official website, this year's Blanchimont had 3.1G lateral peak, while last year's 130R had 4G. I think that is too much for an F1 car to handle with a significant loss of downforce at the rear and general dis-balance, although I might be mistaken.

Not sure if they ran them on Friday, but new very aggressive engine modes were not run during qualifying. If it was loud and sounded very 'rough' it was probably new modes.
Yeap, it sure was. A bit like a wrc v8 lol. I have the FPs taped in my computer, I may get around to uploading a few minutes showing the noise, but i'd have to start searching for the exact laps and can't even recal if it was fp 1 or 2 :(

Sector 1 and Sector 2 at Suzuka will be a whitewash for the RB6. The last sector is a toss up.

Well Spoon looks like a Red Bull playground. But the casio (or is it casino?) chicane looks like Ferrari territory.

Any takers on what their advantage will be? 0.8?

The first corner, the "s" curves, the degners, the run upto spoon , the spoon and the 130 R are all RBR territory.

i dont think one Chicane woould give ferrari any advantage

130r? dont think so, considering everyone bar the new teams will be flat through there.

Yes, 130R wouldn't give any comparative advantage as everyone is flat through there anyways. And my post was in reply to the previous, where S1 and S2 were mentioned as RBR territory, but this neglects Spoon which is in S3.

indeed, Spoon curves are also Red Bull territory.

Before that and After that it will be mclaren territory at the straights where they have been 3-4kph faster all season.

Maybe when the cars are filled up to the brim 130r wont be flat. And Red-Bull might find some pace there.

Looking at early weather forecasts, qualifying will be dry, though there's a decent chance of a damp race.
