Driver of the day for me - Kobayashi. A couple of slightly clumsy moves but some absolute beauties too.

Unlucky weekend for Hamilton. He was flying when the gearbox dropped third on him. I was really looking forward to him and Alonso getting it on.

Good finish by Button to make the best of what was a strategy going wrong twenty laps from the end.

What were the Mercs playing at? We had the radio message saying Rosberg wouldn't defend but he did and then Schuie didn't seem to bother after that.

Stella was telling to Alonso to try and pick up his pace a bit, since they may catch Webber on the rearguard. Alonso complained that he was already trying, but that traffic was not allowing his true pace to show. Stella replied that he knew about it. At least that's what I remember. BBC commentators were surprised that they didn't mention the quicker (at the time) Hamilton at any point.

Seems ferrari are still using that gearbox cut out remote from 2007 on Hamilton's car.

Alonso gave them the signal when things were getting sticky for him with Hamilton cutting him down.

Hamilton would have definitely caught him. Tehn all of a sudden 3rd gear is gone.

Then slow boy button couldn't catch Alonso on his new set of tyres. Mclaren need to give lewis the best if they even want to come second in the championship.

Giving button equal treatment is just messsing up everything. Lewis should have went around button by team orders from early out. He clearly had quicker race pace.

the amount of bad luck that guy has is unreal, butons had NO mecahanical faliures, asided from monaco when he was running 11th!! even then that was down to an idivudual mistake.

Mclaren is like shooting their own leg.. I can't believe there is so much problem with lewis's car while there is none on button's.. It's obvious that lewis is quicker then button and by letting them race fair and having equal treatment.. Erm....

+1 Kobayashi was truly impressive today. If only he had a top car and the same fighting spirit to go with it.

I disagree.

Kobayashi is fun to watch and he certainly spices things up a little, but it seems to me that he needs that bravado to make up for lack of pace.

Honestly I think his luck is balancing out somewhat. Remember early on he avoided penalties for the weaving in Malaysia, running out of fuel after Canada qualifying, and the penalty he got for the safety car incident in Valencia cost him nothing. And he inherited a win in Turkey. As for Button, he's not one of the faster guys out there, but his conservative approach is better for the purpose of collecting points over a season and avoiding bad luck.

Its sad to see Lewis's season fall apart like this, though. I really thought he could have had a shot at this championship.
