Rain radar: http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/radar/in ... tml?id=WMN

Looks like there will be a big shower very soon for an hour or so but should pass just before the race starts.

If this is accurate and at the rate that cell is moving they will start on inters or possibly dry. But more importantly to the start the clean side will have lost any advantage it had before the rain....No?

Hate safety car starts! Just a waste of 2 or 3 laps of racing.

Nope, a team can choose to start a car from the pit lane and removing a car from parc ferme conditions. Case in point, Hispania at AUS and BAH last year and for a more moot point, in 2007 at the European GP at Nurburgring, in a Spyker-Ferarri, Markus Winkelhok led a lap and over took Kimi on the track legitimately on lap 2. Thats one of the best races ive ever seen in F1 and still love to watch it.

If i was Hispania id be taking Karthekeyan for this, Virgin should do it with D'Ambrosio and a team like Team Lotus could do it with Kovalinann as well. To Be Honest, if i was Sauber id do the same with De La Rosa as well, take a gamble and see what goes on.

Other than the fact that the Mercedes, McLarens, Rubens, Glock and posibly the FOrce Indias as well, who arrear to be on more of a hybrid set up for the wet and dry conditions, i can see this race being about pirouettes and being about how well the cars driver can keep the car on the island. At least the brakes wont be as much of an issue now.
I´m constantly amused why teams who do not stand a chance of winning or even getting a points finish always seem to err on the conservative side.
If I´m last anyways i can constantly remove my car from parc ferme and work on setup ,I can participate in Q with one setup and race with another if this makes sense.Track position is not really an issue here.

But then Glock admits to not even trying their Canada configuration (!) but instead playing all cards on a highdownforce setup in the hope to make the tyres last longer(!)he did not really say they had a full wet setup.
And I don´t understand why teams are not splitting their chances .
I think on wetter conditions, teams need to be more aggressive.

STR have taken Alguersauri out to do the exact thing. Maybes someone at STR is on these boards', which would be cool!!!

Algersuari has done just that. He is starting from the pitlane. Could be interesting!

For me, there's no way this is safety car start territory. Should be McLaren awesome start to a race territory though.
