Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Luca Coljani told the Brazil journalist Livio Oricchio in phone call that no large packages or big noticeable upgrades are in the pipeline.
The designers, however, are happy with what they have now, and they will continue development step by step.

This is pretty much only valid picture of F2012 or its parts that I could find, made today in Belgium... Can't see any changes from this angle.

In the photo above:

1) There are very few slots in the end plate. They are not needed because the wing will run at a low AoA?

2) Why the black finish where the end plate attaches to the wing? Is this an attempt to camouflage the wing setting?

1) I'm not the best person one to answer it, mentioning this out of courtesy...

2) My guess, which came the instant I saw it, is that it refers to possible wing angles... See those 3 slots on the left-hand-side of the wing, 2 of them are messing up with the Shell logo, it could be for wing-angle set-up. Spa is pretty much low-df track, but it still requires it and this wing angle, to me, doesn't seem to provide as much as it would be needed...

Pretty much so, the lower AoA/downforce the lower the circulation and tip vortexes.

Yes. It is a low-downforce wing, actually.

New gurney flap on the top of the diffuser. It's slotted.
