For me the most impressive thing was that it was back to back fast laps with no cool down lap between them. Part of that is the tyres are too hard for the circuit, but with more time on the clock could he have gone that extra tenth quicker? He really pushed Vettel hard and for me that was more about the driver than the car.Morteza wrote:Hamilton's lap was amazing. Man, was there anything left in that car?
I think it has to do with the fact that everybody feels that Alonso deserves the title this year.Juzh wrote:whats with all the hate? I bet you any money if the situation with alonso/seb were reversed there wouldnt be half the hate from vettel fans. get real.
oh for crying out loud! give Massa some credit!f1316 wrote:You wonder if Alonso's got the new parts and Massa hasn't, and Massa's car is faster. More parts that don't work as expected? Or Massa's late-braking style working for him to build temp?

Perez has been flattered by the tyres this year. Early on when he looked like the next big thing, he was just a good driver who was able to get more out of the tyres through being smooth and gentle with them when other drivers were struggling to keep the tyres in their operating window. Had they all been running on Bridgestone tyres, for example, then I don't think he would have caught anyones eye as he would have just been another mid pack runner. Now the teams have managed to get on top of the Pirellis, and they have been tending to bring their harder compounds to the races, we see Perez's advantage wiped out and he looks average again.McMrocks wrote:this is true. Perez 0.8 slower than in FP3. Maybe he should fire his race engineer. And Pirelli has to make tyres with a larger window.GrizzleBoy wrote:Wow
McLaren have to ask themsyelves who out of of Button and Perez are going to be able to do this for them in the next few years.

I can't say I'm a huge Alonso fan either but I'm getting bored of Vettel. Pole, yomp away at the start, yawn!Juzh wrote:whats with all the hate? I bet you any money if the situation with alonso/seb were reversed there wouldnt be half the hate from vettel fans. get real.
