really? do you suppose it 'grew on you' as opposed to liking it from day one? After seeing an F117 for the first time, my pre-conceived notions of what was nice and aero - blew out the window. If it has benefit, I like it. If it's there purely as a regulation stuff up, that's going to be harder to warrant keeping around.

I propose a ban on all ip-adresses from Enstone, lest they once more get the idea that we like the first presentation of the year to reveal another one of those horrible noses #-o

I loved the front wings from the 2005-2008 seasons. They were elegant smooth and sexy, complimented the pointed front nose very well too.

Perhaps it did. But I know that I saw pictures of the F150 the other day and said, "that's it? Just a flat nose top? Nothing else on it?"

they were horribly high.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I'll miss them. When they first came in I was shocked, but I've taken a liking to them as for me they kind of embody the 'function over form' philosophy that F1 has, often. Also they give the cars a 'don't F with me' attitude at the front.

Their function stems from the fact that F1 cars are not supposed to run in isolation. That means they have as much function as rubber tire coverstrips used in hire karts to stop tires interlocking. A key part of the aesthetic as I'm sure none would agree.

Seriously to each their own but if you thought the sleek Ferrari 2012 with that brick for a nose looked good you need to see some beautiful F1 cars. Have a look in the other thread if I were you.
F1 car width now 2.0m (same as 1993-1997). Lets go crazy and bring the 2.2m cars back (<1992).

Well the teams could have gone down the road McLaren took, but who ended up being the odd one out?
I'd prefer the Ferrari over the McLaren nose any day, but yes it is subjective.
Also Lotus nose is sexy.

Also also, tell me the Ferrari front end doesn't look tougher...

It looks broken.

The huge front wing and tiny rear wing look almost as bad.

Mind you to be fair I haven't seen the actual car -rather a rendition of it as a model (in various guises) as they don't have a full sized WT.....yet

However I assume the car to be shown as the 'new car' will already be several upgrades behind so it's no more than a 'design philosophy ' as signed off some point last year?
What's worrying me now is that the car I saw isn't the same -or even close- as what was released so I'm guessing it must have been the 2014 car?

No, they're hideous and anyone that likes them is just proof of how F1 fans really are a bunch of conservative goldfish.

Introduce new thing --- I hate it because it doesn't look like old thing --- I love it because it's now the old thing --- I hate the new thing because it doesn't look like the old thing, and the old old thing was too long ago and I can't remember

Useless bunch.

First weeks i thought they looked hideous but after the year i fell in love with the Ferrari nose.
Now it looks like crap frankly but to each his own i guess.

I don´t mind either way frankly. There´s been so many ugly "proper" noses so it´s more about how it´s designed rather then what philosophy is used.
