Yeah, if the Gap was the inlet and the ear redundant why would it have a bung in it when not in use?

The tunnel goes underneath and crosses the path of the exhaust gases that travel above it.

Something like this I think (mind my crap drawing skills)

Means there is a little step at the end of the ramp. while RB ramp joins the floor smoothly and merge

I think most of the teams will cover it during the season.

That's precisely why I call it a cross-under tunnel as the airflow crosses under the exhaust ramp. As for why have Lotus not covered their halfshafts I think this may be to do with the fact their ramp doesn't smooth into the floor. There are several reasons for the shroud one of which being the point at which the airflow hits the halfshaft and produces it's own downforce. Lotus adding the step at the end of the ramp changes the way in which this occurs in comparison to the Red Bull if they were not to shroud the shafts.

This image shows how they abide to the height limit on the floor duct due to the silver stripe. Something no easy to see on the RB.

I don't see any scopes, so, those are scopeless . :)
I'm wondering are they going to try that DRD in Jerez or not... If they are not planning to use it when the season starts, then they should get rid of those ears around roll hoop.

Still trying to imagine what that splitter thing can do. They have regular, flat, thin splitter, and further in front they have that cylindrical thing. I've never before seen that kind of splitter.
