it's a bit off-topic and maybe belonging in the Red Bull thread, but:Neno wrote:clearly diffirent philoshophy. red bull trying to shrink their tunnel much as possible, and leave lots of clean space on rear.Joie de vivre wrote:rbr is soooo much redefined =D>
from what i did see, red bull between beam wing and floor has couple of vertical slots who's purpose is creating "fake effect" of double diffuser- Why fake because is not connected with diffuser himself. i think red bull decided to feed rear end with similar amount air on those slots as it on tunnel. they shrinked tunnel to make more clean space to make air from sidepods and exaust come into this slots and make extra rear downforce. similar thing have ferrari with those slots with "ala mclaren solution".andrewf1 wrote:it's a bit off-topic and maybe belonging in the Red Bull thread, but:Neno wrote:clearly diffirent philoshophy. red bull trying to shrink their tunnel much as possible, and leave lots of clean space on rear.Joie de vivre wrote:rbr is soooo much redefined =D>
doesn't this design intent - of shrinking the tunnel as much as possible in order to have free air flowing to the back - basically translate to achieving what the mclaren version of exhausts have been doing all along?
isn't it like chipping away from a compromise in the design?
What vertical slots are you talking about? I have no idea. Do you have some photos?Neno wrote:from what i did see, red bull between beam wing and floor has couple of vertical slots who's purpose is creating "fake effect" of double diffuser- Why fake because is not connected with diffuser himself. i think red bull decided to feed rear end with similar amount air on those slots as it on tunnel. they shrinked tunnel to make more clean space to make air from sidepods and exaust come into this slots and make extra rear downforce. similar thing have ferrari with those slots with "ala mclaren solution".
if admins think this post dose not belong to Lotus E21 topic please move it into Red Bull topic

I think he's talking about the fins on the floor that are above the diffuser area (fist pic - under the lower wishbone). But I don't know why he's talking about them in the E21 thread...beelsebob wrote:I'm not seeing what you're talking about still.Neno wrote:http://www.motorsport-magazin.com/image ... 472625.jpgkorzeniow wrote: What vertical slots are you talking about?
