Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The top
The green colored parts here:

It looks like they sit on the piece that connects the vertical deflector to the sidepod. they're not placed on the top of the sidepods like 'usual'..
We'll get better pics.

The car seems to have lost its spark post-Melbourne, and Grosjean (to memory) out finished Raikkonen in Malaysia. I wonder if (without them realizing it yet) the new exhaust tunnel bodywork was a step back? ie it's choking or something. Remember the trouble red bull had with a smaller tunnel at the start of 2012?

kimi said the car lack downforce.......(probably the rw not generating enough output???)

and only small updates brought over here

the car was basically the same in Malaysia.

Car was very sensitive to setup...as romain remain struggling.

doesnt sounds too positive, hopes for podium tomorrow.

Raikkonen was faster than GRO in all sessions up until the race, and by some margin. Then RAI got 5 place grid penalty for the race and also damaged his front wing in first lap of the race and was subsequently at the back of a 4 car snake with GRO, MAS and HUL Those 4 were within DRS range of eachother which makes it almost impossible to advance, especially if you are at the back of that pack.

grosjean should go home, because he is idiot. he reminds me of vettel last year in china, when he troubled with new exaust type on car and run on old component.
romain has nvr been happy after the team introduce coanda exhaust last year..until now.
