I can't wait for the sea of marbles. There were as many off-line during FP2 as there were during the race last year.

Moses for the win!

C'mon now. It wasn't all bad. I think I saw one or two non-DRS/tire conservation passes. Maybe.

I dont understand the whine, has ppl forgotten what happens when we dont have factors like the tyres ? We have two teams or even one dominate an entire season, who wants that ?

Its hardly as artifical as the DRS is, since the tyre wear is something YOU and THE TEAM can actually manage, and NEED to manage, nothing more nothing less.

havent watched the race yet, i will do this evening, and im going to make an effort to actually count the amount of 'proper' overtakes, i.e. for position, DRS assisted, nothing to do with tyres.

i absolutely guarantee its barely different to before, they would all have been following each other around. maybe towards the end it all pans out and the cars who randomly were easier with the tyres on the day fared better, and so overtook against other drivers who were powerless to do anything about it.

remember those days of defensive driving? thing of the past now.
yet another person who thinks it was a 'procession' before. what a fail.

I dont rly understand what your trying to say but facts speak for themself, we havent had this close racing in years, even decades and if thats down to the tyres so what? IT ALWAYS has to be down to something, either its spec regulations or its other factors, easy as that.

I rather have 4 or 5 teams fighting over positions with these tyres then i have 2 teams dominating every other race which is what we had before.

Jenson Button: "I'm very happy to have finished fifth today - and the team should be too. The race was always going to be tricky: we weren't quick enough to adopt the same strategy as the others, so we had to run longer than the rest and make two pitstops, rather than three.

"For us, a two-stopper was the fastest way to the end of the race. It meant I had to let others past me and protect the tyres. If we couldn't run to our target lap, it would've destroyed our race.

"I had to cruise when I'd normally fight the others. It's not the most exciting way to go racing, but we got 10 points today because we did it.

Call that racing yeh? does that excite you then, everyone driving around at a controlled pace, drivers unable to do anything, essentially complete passengers. If thats what makes you happy from sprint motorsport, fine by me.

I said what I rather have, which is 4-5 teams fighting rather then 1 or 2 dominating, today we had 4 teams and cars fight for top 4, and Ferrari did the best job with it, while the others were even until the last stint where rai were faster then Hamilton and vettel came on soft hard at the end, which was an exciting end to see what strategy was the best of the 2 and it proved to be a good even match between the strategys

If that's what it takes to excite, how did you make it as a fan before Pirelli? Or did you just really want to be a F1 fan?

The tyres and DRS create a false perception of close racing. When in fact everyone is driving to his delta, determined by the capabilities of the car and driver to extract a given number of laps at given speed an load. And not caring much about fighting or even giving up a position without fighting at all.

It can't be normal tyres to dictate an urgent need for pit stop after only 5 laps in the race. This is a farce.
No real fan of the sport in his right mind would demand going from one extreme to another. But, like everything in the universe, there must be balance. Things went too far over the reasonable margin IMO with Pirelli. And I am not sure they have been given precise specifications for their tyres by FIA, more likely just general guidelines. But I am almost sure that Bernie has had his finger put into the development, perhaps using Hembery as his tool.

Eh what? For me specific 50% or even more is from the technical side of this sport for me, the racing is fun, even in yesteryears, excluding the obv boring schumi era. But as i said i prefer more ppl and teams to fight then less, nothing else.
