Article Translated:
I promised you a story about the secret test Mercedes-Pirelli.

So, here I am.

The Rubber Bridge, two.

A surprise me was not the test itself. Know enough about the environment of F1. I know what he's capable Ross Brawn. I know that Charlie Whiting, the technical manager of the International Federation, has always been very close to Bernie Ecclestone. Which Ecclestone has a close relationship with Paul Hembery, Pirelli's the great Oliver Hardy. I should add that it is not a mystery father's interest in the future of Tamara Daimler Benz F1: it was precisely the father of Tamara to 'drive' the entry of Wolff and Lauda in the stable, an operation preparatory to a possible sale of the team to investitoti private, along the lines of what happened to the former Lotus Renault today.

Ergo, no wonder. It 'been a backroom maneuvering, with clear objectives, a functional overall design. Jean Todt has been put in the middle and it is definitely sull'incazzato, partly because from Maranello his former employer, aka LCDM, made him not just a phone ... affectionate.

But the real intriguing aspect of the smelly thing, in my opinion, is another.

Let me explain.

We live, thanks to you Cloggari, in a world in which, among social networks and tweets and satellite channels, and blah blah blah, just that Obama face a yawn and time two minutes knows the swine housed in a jay Uzbekistan. And these, I mean Mercedes, make a test with Rosberg and Hamilton on the track and for days no one knows nada?

It 's fascinating, really.

So, here's how things would turn out, according to sources not quotable.

1) On the Sunday evening of the Spanish GP Mercedes team behaves like all teams. Fills transporters of each material and I salute you and I, that is, the trucks are returning to the natural destination, in this case Brackley, England.

2) So allayed suspicions, transporters Mercedes changing road and settle down on the Costa Brava, an hour's drive from Montemelo.

3) There, as any tourists, enjoying the mechanics and engineers, because to get the test team from Britain would entail excessive risk (of being caught).

4) There is however the problem of the circuit. The laws, including Spanish, require that for any performance on the track are present not only the employees to the circuit, but also an ambulance and a helicopter for emergency relief.

5) From Stuttgart plant operators of Montmelo make an offer you can not refuse. Triple fee for the rental of the circuit, but the staff is affectionately sent on vacation (paid even that). Security measures shall directly Mercedes, with its health workers and so forth.

6) Armored structure, a car transporter comes completely white, no sign of any kind, on which the vehicle is being loaded 2013. Only at that point the car transporter 'official' back home.

7) Hamilton and Rosberg are summoned by mail, with the request not to bring the suit to work, least of all the helmets personal. Guide with liveries absolutely anonymous, so if someone going from Montmelo hear the sound of a F1 would think, I know, for a commercial.

8) According to rumors, the curious exhibition was also attended ... Michael Schumacher, kindly invited by Ross Brawn. If both went to the track or not, we do not know.

9) The Pirelli has complied with the code of secrecy that has surrounded the entire operation.

10) The donkey fell in Monte Carlo, when someone is asked on what grounds both Rosberg and Hamilton declare, at every turn, to be fiduciosissimi for Gp, having, according to them, Mercedes solved the trouble of suspension which involved the frightening wear pneumatic found to Barcelona.

11) There were people who put two and two, and so on Sunday morning in Monaco, to avoid being unmasked, Mercedes more Pirelli most Whiting have packed version, already prepared and in itself can not be appealed, the exchange of letters between supplier tires, teams and the FIA about the test.

12) Red Bull and Ferrari have had hysterics and asked what he knew Todt.

13) Todt knew only half, or nearly so, and the matter was understood to be finished in a sea of colored matter, similar to chocolate.

As for the developments 'legal', we'll see ..
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

The article makes my BS detector flicker a bit. Anyone fluent enough to clean up the auto-translation a little more? I'm trying to figure out who or what "Tamara Daimler" actually is. The directly contradicts a few things we've been told that aren't being disputed (Mercedes hanging around after the race), and pulls some other stuff completely out of the blue that doesn't gel with other things going on (selling the team). Nonetheless I'd still like to understand what the author is trying to say a bit more.

I'm not sure why you are getting caught up on this. The test ban does not apply to cars that are 2 years old or more. It doesn't matter what you or I think the car looks like, the 2 year cut off is absolute.

That's why we see teams running old cars in modern livery at demonstration events.

The amount of the DF recovered is the same, but the airflow is VERY different.

Coincidence?
Yes, coincidence. Ferrari had a good hand for Barcelona before the test already, with Alonso having been able to fight for wins everywhere but Monaco and Barcelona being abrasive. Mercedes was tipped as favorite for Monaco since long ago. And if now you let Red Bull test tires before Hungary, it will be n=3 and still a coincidence.
In most cases, the majority is below the average.

Ferrari have been good all year, its just that it hasnt shown cause crash in Malaysia and crap in Bahrain but he won in China which was the crappiest tyre race ever so ofc they would be good for Barcelona, think before you ever write again plz.

Tough crowd. Here I was thinking this was a place for open and frank discussion supporting a range of views backed by supporting documentation. Seems I was mistaken. I don't have to be right but simply to have a thought, to question. Science is about questioning, to find the absolute truth. Obviously that offends some. I won't apologize for questioning something, ever. I do apologise for doing it here. Guess there are forums, then there are not.

Rarely have I ever posted without considering, without supporting, without knowing it could be controversial. Never have I seen such narrow minded responses. Right or wrong, this is the place to discuss, is it not?

I'll leave you all to it then.

To test tyres you need to load them in a representative way - how (with what flow) you achieve the load it is not relevant to tyres. Tyre shape could affect load instead

Uh, in this case it is. Back in 2011 teams could very precisely inject the exhaust gasses underneath the floor. Today, those same gasses influence rear tyre temperature.

However, I find I find it appaling this discussion is about car relevance. ALL those cars aren't relevant in any way! Let's not forget they tried out 2014 tyres, a year in which the whole damn car changes. DF levels will get a big crunch, engines wil have high torque, etc.

I think it imore than a little interesting that the Canada weekend will likely feature rain in all practice and quali sessions and in the race. Which means NONE of the great Pirelli tire test/tweak brouhaha will be relevant, as the teams will spend most of the weekend on inters or full wets! :o

spectacle would be for sure better in rainy conditions and honestly i desire not dry and hard on tyres conditions instead. Life in not ...... but a constant opportunity

Correct, but they run those events on demo tyres.

In Ferrari's case, I don't think it is about what car they ran but rather what advantage they could have gotten by running race tyres.

And now the Hankook theory can be thrown into the bin. Atleast for 2014.
Hankook has ruled out becoming Formula 1 tyre supplier in 2014 if Pirelli does not agree a new contract.

The South Korean company, which currently supplies tyres in a number of categories including the DTM and the Formula 3 European Championship, is open to a move to grand prix racing in the future.

But the company's DTM competition engineer Michael Eckert has confirmed it is too late to consider such a move next year.

He added that the lack of testing opportunities could also stymie such a move in the long term.

"For 2014, it's completely impossible not only because of the lack of tyre development time," he told AUTOSPORT when asked about the viability of a move into F1 next season.

"Even if Hankook wants to take three, four, five years to jump into Formula 1 as a supplier, the lack of testing opportunities would make it impossible.

"With the current cars and drivers, it's impossible [to test] so you need to find a suitable number of vehicles and drivers that would allow you to get some reliable feedback."
