Williams FW37 Mercedes Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So the lower wishbone on the front is standard A-arm?

Not completely standard, the front one appears much thicker (copying Mercedes in a way).

Here's the front view in high res. Open in a new tab for the large image.

The front wing looks to have barely changed. The trailing edge of the endplate looks a bit different, but that could just be all the black playing illusions. The trailing edge of the uppermost element is the same as the one they started the season with.

Basically they rendered it with a 2014 wing. If that means that they'll continue with that one or just needed to have something in place for the time being, is a different question.

The FW36's front wing barely changed all season. I would be surprised to see a radical new design.

It looks like the same car with a Mercedes W05 nose plus a nub added to it. I don't expect to see anything new on these preredered images. The rear of the car is likely where the biggest changes will be, and those will probably be in small details, not radical changes.

IMHO the air intakes on the sidepods look smaller (at least comparing with launch spec 2014 car).
The nose resembles a "mix" of last year's Mercedes and Mclaren...And albeit it isn't a beauty, we have seen worst.

The sidepod inlets have certainly shrunk. Scarbs hinted at potentially larger inlets for more PU cooling due to higher output. It doesn't look that way with the Williams.

Probably due advancement in radiator technology. They make steps ever year in efficiency there, making a mechanical part just as important for aerodynamics as aerodynamics itself is.
(Currently working on the front wing article of the FW36. For now I'll assume the wing will still stay the same for next year.

The aspect ratio and scale of the images that made the comparison is different, so I'd take any visual changes with a grain of salt.
