How much running did Mclaren get in before the fuel problems?
I seen a picture with some flow vis - suggests they had some good running before the fuel pump issue.
Counter is currently on 35 laps for Button.JimClarkFan wrote:How much running did Mclaren get in before the fuel problems?

That isn't bad running for a brand new engine.WaikeCU wrote:Counter is currently on 35 laps for Button.JimClarkFan wrote:How much running did Mclaren get in before the fuel problems?

EDIT: Looks like fuel pump issue can't be fixed in time. Button calls it a day.
Small ones which costed too much time. Anyway 78 laps is not a disaster though its quite a poor mark.JimClarkFan wrote: That isn't bad running for a brand new engine.
Overall I think Mclaren Honda did well.
No major problems, but they need to get those smaller issues sorted
This is a TEST - not a show. The teams have individual goals they attempt to achieve, completely different test programs and strategies they rum, and it is in their hands to judge if the test was successful or not. The best thing that can happen during testing is that design errors show themselves, so they can be eliminated before the season begins - that is effective testing. This can only backfire if there are too many errors in the design - but they have three tests to insure that everything is ok.zagor wrote:Not sure how anyone spins McLearn/Honda testing as a positive! Bottom line is that it was the worst out of all the teams present. The fact they had the mercedes engine in their car for all of 2014 and could have studied the layout and design was a huge advantage. No excuses girls that was a pathetic showing in jerez. Perhaps what they should have done is borrowed mercedes technical documents as they have ferraris in the past and built their car that way. =D>

It was rumoured a few days ago that McLaren, Ferrari & RB will have different noses for the next test.Pilatus wrote:You don't do that if you are not interested in nose tip/nose cone modifications.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:Ferrari using Flo-Vis on the FW neutral section, pylons, suspension back to sidepod inlets today.

I'm sure that soon we'll see some changes.
Yes, but RBR was not the only team with Renault engine. There were two other teams (STR and Caterham) and they all together did 668km (Btw. Ferrari 1966km and Merc 3874km)! Honda did only 349km... From this point of view it's not so optimistic, right?KingHamilton01 wrote:Just a thought for those who constantly mention how little McLaren Honda have ran etc, Red Bull only ran 21 lap's in the whole jerez test last season and to my knowledge McLaren have ran over 70 Lap's so far!
