I recall Hamilton doing this in the morning yesterday on medium tyres:Neno wrote:Williams-Lotus-Ferrari stints on medium compound. Ofcourse we dont know the fuel.
The lap times for Romain Grosjean's latest stint on the medium compound: 1:28.4, 1:27.5, 1:27.9, 1:27.9, 1:28.5, 1:31.1, 1:28.8, 1:30.0 and 1:30.8.

I think no body is comparing Kimi run with Merc one. Merc is fastest its sealed. What every one looking for is where do the Ferrari stands against Williams and OthersWaikeCU wrote:I recall Hamilton doing this in the morning yesterday on medium tyres:Neno wrote:Williams-Lotus-Ferrari stints on medium compound. Hamilton is pushing on, on the medium rubber. Since posting his 1m25.192s, he's completed a 1m26.040s, 1m25.947s, 1m26.224s, 1m26.063s and 1m26.480s.
What does that tell us...
A half tank run over a shorter distance vs. ¾ tank runs over a slightly longer distance.WaikeCU wrote:I recall Hamilton doing this in the morning yesterday on medium tyres:Neno wrote:Williams-Lotus-Ferrari stints on medium compound. Ofcourse we dont know the fuel.

It's still a guess on how much fuel they got onboard and I don't even know how many laps Hamilton has put in on that set of medium's, but it would be hard to think they are on low fuel. I think what matters most for Mercedes is a full fuel tank performance. Q3 times are set with a full fuel tank and that's probably the hardest part on Saturday qualifying for them. For Mercedes it's the most important thing to find their optimal performance on full fuel range. I believe that's where they got competition with Williams, since Williams have the best fuel usage throughout the race when we look back in 2014. If Mercedes can leave their competitors behind as early in the race, it would be easier for them to manage the race, the car in the latter stages. That's why I think they are practicing on their full fuel range pace.Chene_Mostert wrote: A half tank run over a shorter distance vs. ¾ tank runs over a slightly longer distance.

True haha, we dont know what they can do but perhaps some people think that can have a good car taking into account that they have a Mercedes engine. Plus Force India usually starts the season in a good shape before the development war starts.AnthonyG wrote:It's funny how people keep mentioning Force India, they haven't even run their car.

I thought it's prohibited to fuel by the end of Q3 and the start of the race.Chene_Mostert wrote:WaikeCU wrote:It's still a guess on how much fuel they got onboard and I don't even know how many laps Hamilton has put in on that set of medium's, but it would be hard to think they are on low fuel. Just to inform you: Q3 times are not done with full tanks, what would give you that Idea?
Secondly, full tank times around here is 1:31 to 1:29, 3/4 tanks 1:29 to 2:27, Half high 1:28 to 2:27 and1/4 is 1:26 to high 1:24...
Sorry what , From what i hear and see Q3 is done with almost minimal Fuel on the tank and to get out and out fast time from the car since 2010WaikeCU wrote: I thought it's prohibited to fuel by the end of Q3 and the start of the race.
Furthermore, no refuelling is allowed during Q3 - hence drivers participating in that session must start the race with whatever fuel was left in their car at the end of Q3. If a driver makes it through to Q3, but is then unable to compete in the session, his team must inform the FIA immediately of how much fuel they wish to add to the car.
Refuelling when a race has been suspended is forbidden unless a car is already in the pit entry or pit lane.
Thanks for lighten this up. Guess I was reading the wrong regulations of probably the wrong season somehow.Harsha wrote:Sorry what , From what i hear and see Q3 is done with almost minimal Fuel on the tank and to get out and out fast time from the car since 2010WaikeCU wrote: I thought it's prohibited to fuel by the end of Q3 and the start of the race.

Yeah I know, but I entered 'F1 Q3 fuel' and ended up on the F1 site, probably and older version of the regulation. I wonder why that page is still available.Chene_Mostert wrote:You need to get an updated version of the regulations.
