I don't think that last year problem was the pull rod suspension, it looks like they tried to exploit something within the height of the chassis by sacrificing the suspension geometry.
I think that they raised the chassis as much as possible to generate more downforce but the resulting roll center of the car was too high with too much understeer at low speed. This was a key factor also in free practices where they were forced to run with low fuel to save front tires.
This year their geometry is quite similar to others ones.
