Classy of @Phil to post what he did.

Vet should be punished for this, amateurish driving.
Unbelivable.
He's had a nibble at both Verstappen and Hamilton.

I'd say emotions just running high on the moment. My initial reaction too was to pull Vettel over. It needs some cooling down to put into perspective. Vettel was clumsy to destroy his front wing and not to react on Hamilton having to lift off for Verstappen, no way around that. But, first lap accidents are always treated lenient and in that regard no action was warranted. A shame though it ruined both their races.

Also doing exactly what a Verstappen got a penalty for 7 days ago. And getting away with it Scott free.

Well deserved 4th title for Lewis. "Interesting" race to say the least. Stand out performances by Ocon, Max, and Seb. If one ignores Seb's moment of situational "unawareness" at the start he actually drove like a champion today.

However, the focus should be on LH and his achievement of matching SV and getting closer to MS's record. Bravo!

So Seb will become the next Nico Rosberg? I look forward to hear how Vettel will be made the villain next year. Sky and British media will lead the way.

I have to defend Vettel here about the start incident. At the same time, i applaud Lewis for actually attempting such a ballsy move. Max and Seb compromised each other and Hamilton who set himself up nicely got a much better run into the chicane which enabled him to overtake Seb.

The only problem was that Max came driving out on corner exit, which caused Hamilton to lift to not have his wing shaved off by Max. This in turn took Seb by surprised who ended up much closer to Hamilton and slit his rear.

Very unfortunate “race incident” and i wouldnt attribute blame on Sebs part.

I do have to say though, what seriously impressed me by Hamilton at this race was his ability to avoid his frontwing taken off. There were various instances, with Verstappen at the start, Massa and multiple times with Alonso where he was gauging perfectly if and how long to stay alongside. In Alonsos case, he was at the very limit and backed at just the last moment when realizing that he was about to be chopped. Amazing judgement there.

I also think one of the reason why Hamilton failed to get by Sainz for way too long is because Sainz had DRS from Wehrlein. So the advantage was smaller. Also Sainz also had fresh new tires. Vettel had the benefit of not loosing that much time from the first lap incident so he was mostly facing other cars on worse tires who werent already benefitting by DRS. And the Ferrari i think is clearly stronger in another cars wake.

Ps: big respect for Ferrari for not swapping places.

Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Doubtful.
Vettel has class. You also seem to have missed SKY having parked themselves up Ferrari and Vettel's collective anus all season.
That was done tongue in cheek. Excuse the pun.

Sorry but Vettel took a nibble out of both Verstappen and Hamilton. That's amateur hour and I'm surprised he is normally far better than that.

Rubbish.

Your blind loyalty however. Let me guess Vettel didn't do anything wrong? Correct?

Once it was obvious that the title was gone, Vettel wouldn't have wanted to swap places I think. Why be on the podium in front of the crowds when all you really want to do is be somewhere quiet with your thoughts?

The swap would only have happened if Vettel had a realistic chance.

Well deserved championship for Hamilton.

Commanding drive from Verstappen. All cars lapped except the top 4. 1.5 second faster than Bottas while cracking jokes with his engineer. I think we will not hear anyone suggesting that he is an overhyped brat anymore. He is the real deal.

Ocon is also shaping up nicely. And of course Alonso showing that he hasn’t lost it.

With Red bull finally having closed the gap to the front runners and Mclaren switching powerplants I cannot wait for next season. Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso and Verstappen squaring it off in similar equipment would be epic.
