Bottas is P4 and almost 7 tenths adrift, I think the question is how did Lewis do that, cant wait for the on-board replay wow.
If something crazy happens at the front it's either turn 1 or turn 7 elsewhere, turns 1 2 3 4 5 are known incident locations on the first lap for following traffic. Afterwards the race usually starts to settle down, unless people are battling which can cause a safety car. The fact there are different groups and these groups are so tight means that staying out of trouble will be just as important as being fast, this place punishes mistakes, but driving conservatively means you're slow. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the race unfolds as the track begins to change through the night, and how the tires degrade and who can adapt the best.
That was one of those once in a lifetime laps, I can't wait to see the onboard. It probably looks so boring and mundane.yelistener wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 16:11Holy --- 2018 cars and the hypers are just crazy! 1:36.015 is 3.4s faster than 2017. In fact, the pole lap time difference between 2018 and 2017 is even bigger than 2017 and 2016!!!
2016 1:42.584
2017 1:39.491 (-3.093 to 2016)
2018 1:36.015 ( -3.476 to 2017)
This is madness! Lewis did a HOLY-MOTHER-OF-GOD lap!
yeah even the team and himself couldnt believe what just happened
