16:05 Norris broke the longest streak of consecutive 1m26s laps with a 1m25s, and was clearly so uncomfortable with seeing a different number on his dash that he came in for a quick pass through the pits to calm down. We predict another 50 1m26s laps before the end of the day.

At least he's consistent...

If he just passed through the pits, he is full of fuel.

from autosport Long run snippets: We saw Leclerc's first run of the afternoon start in the 1m23s on C2s before drifting way out to the 1m27s before he made a mistake and came in. Bottas put in a very interesting run that was consistently in the 1m21s on the softer C3s - but crucially we don't know how their fuel loads compared. We've also heard from Daniel Ricciardo that he was happy in the morning with the Renault being able to lap around the low 1m23s and high 1m22s. Meanwhile, right now we have Norris circulating very consistently in the 1m26s, using C2 tyres on the McLaren. It seems unlikely all three of Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault would run lighter than McLaren, so is that bad news for the British team?

Norris did a lengthy run, pitted, then returned to the track on the same tyres. In the first stint he was regularly in the 1m26s, now he's down into the 1m25s.

This is a mighty run on used tyres for Norris. We don't have a lap counter per driver per stint, but he did a lengthy run, pitted, then returned to the track on the same tyres. In the first stint he was regularly in the 1m26s, now he's down into the 1m25s.

Even last years car which had fundamental problem was not 3-4 seconds of the pace. Get real Autosport, its only testing and you are, with steady pace becoming too much drama queens like SkyF1.

He was quite consistent with the times. It's not impossible that he's been given a delta time.

Detuning the engine for long stints, no cooldown laps, no DRS, single set of tires and at least 40ish laps of fuel = 1:26s that turn into 1:25s with the fuel burnoff.

That may very well be 2 seconds off the pace, but at least compared to Renault it looked ok. I am not tracking other cars but apperently this was one of Leclercs runs:

McLaren just brought Norris in and did an IndyCar style pitstop - one mechanic to detach the tyre, take it away, fit the fresh one and bolt it in place.

I saw this also yesterday, why arent they practicing regular pit-stops as well?

yeah i am on same lines. why people want mclaren to fail ?. what they want from mclaren is to linger at the back end. it makes me sick literally. mclaren is doing far better this year. i hope mclaren rubs the **** at their face with their performance.
