Only 1.2 sec faster as verstappen on c3 ..... not impressed
And only 0.4 on Vettel who is on c4
So 1.2 faster for 2 compounds difference.
Yeah, would suggest a higher engine mode on the Ferrari yesterday. Would love to see the sectore times from Leclercs lap
There is a comment from Toto floating around claiming that Leclerc’s engine mode on his fastest lap was reduced over a 1:18 lap he did - so I think fuel load remains the biggest unknown.NathanOlder wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 12:47Yeah, would suggest a higher engine mode on the Ferrari yesterday. They are usual stints of testing. A race sim involves no break in between stints and involves only tyre changes. What ferrari did yesterday, is not an ideal race stint as you don't do a race on single type of tyre. You count the laps from the times you have posted and its only 37 laps.dxpetrov wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 10:32
Here you go:
Race sim of Verstappen:
First stint on C3: Outlap - 1:23.0 - 1:23.2 - 1:23.3 - 1:23.3 - 1:23.4 - 1:23.4 - 1:23.4 - 1:23.6 - 1:23.7 - 1:23.7 - 1:23.8 - 1:23.8 - 1:24.2 - 1:24.0 - 1:24.1 - 1:24.3 - Inlap
Second stint on C2: Outlap - 1:22.4 - 1:22.3 - 1:22.4 - 1:22.5 - 1:22.4 - 1:22.4 - 1:22.6 - 1:22.7 - 1:22.9 - 1:22.7 - 1:22.9 - 1:23.1 - 1:23.8 (traffic) - 1:22.4 - 1:43.9 (traffic or mistake) - 1:23.9 - 1:23.1 - 1:22.6 - Inlap
Third stint on unmarked tires: Outlap - 1:21.6 - 1:21.6 - 1:21.4 - Inlap

So I think that ferrari is using a higher engine mode for sure.
Yep, still not fast enough.
But Bottas is still ways slower in the first and second sectors speed traps. Yesterday Leclerc was faster.
You did see before that Bottas did an identical time on the c4 tire too, right?
Honda is not a sponsor, just a supplier.iotar__ wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 12:57NathanOlder wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 12:09They were simulating a normal race length while powered by HondaGPR -A wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 10:44I am not sure if they are race sim. BTW Honda's logo on a car couldn't be smaller. Not bang for the buck deal.
Not sure.
Maybe Hamilton drove a 1.18.0, but which amount of fuel, how warm was it, was engine turned up, etc.NathanOlder wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 12:45So 1.2 faster for 2 compounds difference.
Vertsappens time on C3 is only 3 tenths faster than Lewis on the C2's. equally not impressive. only 3 tenths for 1 compound difference.

S2 - 28.454
S3 - 26.189
were Bottas 3 sector times. That was over a tenth slower than Sainz in S1 today. So surely the Mercedes has time in hand in S1 , or has Renault got a beast of an engine for that 1st sector ?
Do we know Leclerc's 3 sector times from yesterday ?? Would really like to know.
