Interesting view on the matter. Does that mean in 1994 Michael did no wrong as he was in front and can just sweep to the track limit.
Actually, Michael's action was similar to Vettel's and both deserved a penalty... 8)

Good call for the sport, but not the rules. Let them all race... not just VES.

How many fans are still at the circuit for the after party ?
Only the drunk ones, I believe. That's right, isn't it turbo?
Well, drunk people are usually the last ones to leave any social gathering!

As long as the stewards remain consistent in similar circumstances

Stewards not looking at the incident but it will be looked at away from the track an hour after the race finished. That suggests they want the crowd to disperse before they issue a decision.
The sad part is that fans should not have such power over the judges. The only thing as bad as a kangaroo court is a mob court. But in a way I think it's their own fault (FIA) for having a policy of appeasement in the past and not standing their ground in many cases where teams behaved in ways that polarized their fans and fostered toxicity and unreasonableness as a means to an end (getting their way in the courts). Now we have entitled fans that are hard to deal with as a result.

As far as the incident goes, I do think Max is a dirty driver and I do think such driving should be penalized. I am sure that will have an effect of making drivers more cautious after incidents and more likely to give the position back on their own so that no penalty is needed. Like they used to in the past some times.
Leclerc behaved more maturely than Vettel would have I think. I like him. If Ferrari makes a comeback with Leclerc at its head it won't be insufferable for me. He's quick and skilled driver and does not seem prideful and entitled like Verstappen. Time will tell, I hope he makes it.

The irony is that the Ferrari fans that complained about the Canada incident, they pushed for common sense, real racing, let's scrap these silly penalties...well you got it here in Austria so now what  #-o

It would be short sighted to only target the ferrari fans here. I do imagine a lot of ferrari staff members will be steaming over this.

EDIT: fairplay from Binotto. I'm sure Leclerc will get his victory as well in the near future.
