Wolff is the most furious I’ve seen him since Austria ‘16.

Being put on used mediums whilst the track was still this wet wasn’t lucky too.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:46Going off and damaging the car is less lucky than going off and not damaging the car, no matter how you spin it...etusch wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:32Hamilton was also very lucky. If he did the.crash at 10 meter forward he would go with that car whole one lap before pitting.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:29
Exactly. If Max's spin had caused damage he'd have been way back too. Sometimes you just need to have a bit of good fortune on your side. Today Max did and many others didn't.
It was a very eventfull race, maybe a good idea to rewatch as it happened thrice.Polarit wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:54He was 30+ seconds ahead of Bottas with a 18 second stop still to take. So around 12 in front of Bottas but more when it comes to Verstappen.... but he’d just spun. So even more on top of that and then he pitted for the set of inters whilst Hamilton had his crash so in theory it was the 30 seconds had he put on the tyres he wanted.
He also leaped Bottas because of the safety car didn’t he.
Max pulled the advantage when he had Hulk behind him didn’t he? Can’t remember him pulling a huge gap on any other time.
Yes, great to see Honda up there, it took them 6 years but still they never give up and they kept their heads down. Respect!
Lol haters gonna hate. Max was put on used mediums too and also spun. Just he didnt go onto the drag racing strip and hit the wall.
Sums it up pretty well. I think everybody (including Vettel) apart from Verstappen were helped by the faults the usual six suspect that finish top six almost every race (Leclerc, Bottas, Hamilton and Gasly) made.Espresso wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 18:58Wow some great excitement today.
What a great tactical approach from race control to 'drive the track' dry enough for a standing start.
And clear decisive use of the VSC and safetycar. Only out when needed. Keeping situation challenging for all!
And I think the results are exiting putting some midfield drivers into some well deserved points.
Got to watch me this race again. Just some loose remarks:
- Ver - Great driving and 'fault recovery'
- Vet - Remarkable solid drive from Vettel. Kudos to that. He deserved this wholly!
- Torro Rosso, great solid drive today from both drivers.
- Str - Invisible but solid race result. He's always strong in wet conditions.
- Gasly, to eager, self inflicted damage. Pity
- Mercedes (Ham en Bot)...just run out of luck.
- LeClerc weakness revealed, he doesn't adapt his driving to the conditions. Every time a similar mistake at the same point.
- Magnussen....yep S-ck my Balls' did it again. When does Gunther end this nightmare?
- Renault - 'speaking is silver, silence is gold'. I'll shut up...
- Norris, Perez also run out of luck....
That is going to be the juiciest bit of silly season discussions, because frankly Kvyat has also made a very convincing argument this season. The writing is on the wall for Gasly as well so let the speculation fly.TAG wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:40Man I am exhausted after watching that race! Always something going on beginning to end. Well worth it for the entertainment value and congratulations to Vettel for giving Ferrari fans something to cheer about, it's been long overdue. It's rare to see Mercedes cock up during a race the way they did but Hamilton's race was over after his off and Bottas threw away a good chunk of points that could have gone deep into his deficit. Congratulations to Toro Rosso and Stroll and everyone else that made brilliant calls. Albon needs to be in that second Red Bull seat.
