I feel most people are missing the strategic and tactical nuances of what unfolded in Q3. What a pity.
This is not a subtle nuance, it's plain to see for the most causal observer

Make Q3 a single lap shootout. No more towing, no bunching up like rush hour traffic, get out, put your time in, get off. Simple.

Wonder why something like this only happened now. I guess it's because slipstream is very strong with these huge rear wings.

It's quite easy to give them all grid penalties meaning that the current top nine are not individually disadvantaged against each other but get the message that they have a lot to answer for.

Some of them have demonstrably abused the chicane short-cut and others have individually impeded other drivers butI see no need to split hairs.

Which is why we had so much ‘No please after you!’. Those calling for Hulkenberg, Sainz and Stroll being penalised are missing 1 clear point. If Hamilton, Ricciardo, Vettel, LeClerc, Albon Or Bottas has been in that position it would have been exactly the same. Nobody wanted to be at the front and as such leaving it that late was idiotic.

And Seb couple kph in every corner as well. While you gain on straights with a tow, and get net benefit (F1 said up to 0.2 seconds), you do lose in corners compared to no tow so net benefit is not no tow lap + tow difference.

Everyone was at it and EVERYONE is responsible.
In your opinion, and i do not agree with it.
Obviously but then again you can’t see that everyone getting to turn 1 with only 1’36 (including tyre warm ups and creating space) left on the clock was insane so..........

again, you can go onto the track at any time during a session as long as you maintain the minimum speed. You don't have to set a flying lap, so as far as I can tell your argument is fundamentally flawed.

However going off track without a valid reason is against the rules, as is blocking other drivers.

Part 1 I agree with as I have already told you.
Part 2 is where you seem to misunderstand. They were not blocking they WANTED others to go past. Nobody wanted to be at the front. It’s a key but fundamental difference.

I'm very pleased that I missed this Moto3 qualifying.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

So they should get the penalties because they just happened to blink first. Yeah ok :wtf:
