Am I the only one to look at that weather and think ‘I’ve seen perfectly good racing in worse weather than that’?
The pirelli wet tires are horrible, they have published numbers that state they move about half as much water as the 2010 bridgestones. There was a point where the Bridgestone intersection moves more water than the pirelli full west. Pirelli are the reason why nobody in F1 2 or 3 can race on any more than a damp track.

Also, supposedly, the cloud cover was too much for the medical helicopter. The hospital is too far by ground, so the medical helicopter is mandatory to run, but the weather conditions have grounded it.

From a local weather station in the valley the rain seems to have eased off now.

Why the delay, it is not that worst
It is not like we are having a cyclone or something
Nothing to the extend we had in Suzuka few years ago

Brundle was talking to someone (Mike someone?) who said that at the moment the medical helicopter cannot take off and the hospital is an hour away by road. It seems its the visibility as much as the wetness.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Looks like QF is on at 15:00 according to ORF. Right now, no rain, but more again expected at 15:30.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Now that’s a big factor maybe we hadn’t considered. It’s critical the emergency services can operate.

Looking at the radar via MeteoGroup, via the weather pro app, i think it will remain clear until 1500 when Q1 will set the grid, getting out early will be the key, the earlier you are out, will give you the better lap time. Id fill the cars up with circa 15-18 kilos of fuel on the upper range, give them enough for maybe 10 laps at a time. As for tyres, its full wets, someone will gamble on a set of inters somewhere. Q2 will most certainly be damp, Q3 will get cancelled. This is a Austin 2016 quali type session.

Its going to be a mixed grid. Tomorrows race will be carnage.

Rain started again- if it’s light we may go ahead with quali but if heavy more delays.

Come on sunshine! Haha

So it’s been stopped due to rain (not heavy rain, just rain). Talk about being baby sitted.

Edit. Now it pours down.
