Don't waste your time some people just simply don't want to see Perez at all in F1 so for them the idea of him being replaced is wonderfull**. Remember he's always had to achieve a lot more then others to be regarded on equal terms to drivers who haven't achieved anything. Look at how much Hulk is respected for getting one P3 in Qualifying and in a pink Merc.drunkf1fan wrote: ↑09 Aug 2020, 03:40He's costed the team a lot? He's quite literally the only man not in a Merc, Ferrari or RBR to get consistent podiums in the hybrid era. he got 5 podiums and 10 top 5 finishes in a team with Hulk who got either 4 or 5 top 5 finishes but no podiums. There is literally no other driver bringing in podiums consistently outside of the top three teams because he has such strong race pace and so consistently stays out of trouble.
Hulk has some of the more dangerous crashes in F1 and outside of Grosjean is the most crashprone driver on the grid.
He was very lucky for both the halo and a generally lucky reputation to get away with an absolute --- braindead late braking move in Spa where without the halo Leclerc may very well be dead or brain damaged right now. He flipped his own car by turning in on Grosjean in Abu Dhabi where he ended up stuck in a car on fire upside down on the barriers. He crashed into Perez and other team mates multiple times over the years.
Literally these two had the same car for 3 years and Perez pulled off performances Hulk couldn't and was in far less crashes than Hulk in that period. THese two have had 3 full years together to compare and there was a clear as day winner and that's before you mention that Perez brings in like 25mil in sponsorship to the team.
Having good qualifying pace one time in Silverstone doesn't mean much of anything, race pace is what matters in F1. Hulk has had a few good potential performances, pole in Brazil... then --- it with a stupid crash taking out Hamilton as well. Every time he has a shot at a podium he blows it.
Thinking Hulk is a better driver because of one qualifying session and bringing up multiple ridiculous reasons Perez should go, in which in each metric Hulk is obviously worse, it's crazy.
Every driver up and down the grid has had crashes and cost their team money in repairs, that's part of racing, but accusing Perez of this, the only guy getting podiums in non top 3 cars... it's entirely laughable. Outside of Stroll no one brings as much team sponsorship and money with him and no one consistently brings as much coverage with podiums to their team from the midfield and below teams than Perez. He's been consistently the most valuable midfield driver since 2014.
At the same time look how little Perez is respected for having multiple podiums in cars not worthy of a podium.
