I’m skeptical that moving to Mercedes is the right move.

Not just because this fast tracks, but because it’s a gamble and another transition year for an engine that MIGHT not be better or MIGHT not fit the car well.

I've maintained that from the start but don't let a few high top speeds from a few races fool you. Aero is still king, meaning Merc is still .1%. Better. Renault we're still asking for more money. At any rate that ship has sailed.

Also Ricciardo had a DNF just now in Practise 3. Engine I think or maybe Gearbox. Curious to see if they are gonna make it till Qualifications.
Apparently its an easy fix. Could be hydraulics again.
Apparently just a fuel pump failure.

Personally I believe that we have the upper hand in this GP against the Renaults and the Racing Points even in a small margin. At least that is what I have seen so far during Practise where we have the engine down. I believe that we can do even better in Qualifications once we up the engine.

It’s going to be interesting to see how much teams improve session to session in Quali today... I’m guessing that more than driver improvement, the order after Q1 shouldn’t change too much...

Track limits could play a big role for the top teams if they don’t get it right.

Interesting that Norris is going for another lap... With such a big delta to P15, it seems a waste of tires that could be useful in Q3

Nope both Mclaren's did not do another lap and probably saved tyres.

Norris did an outlap on new tires. They aborted before the lap started as they saw everyone screw each other up. Good decision.

Surprised that was the case, they seem to have plenty of a buffer to P15, considering that both Williams and both Haas, as well as the AR’s where off the pace...

Anyway... Q2 is live, let’s get into Q3!

It's very close. Sainz was about 2 tenths ahead of Norris but there were 5-6 cars within a tenth or so of Norris. I understand the decision and applaud them aborting when they saw everyone was going to compromise each other.

Agreed... Just found it surprising, since the teams that needed to improve in order to drop us off in Q1 needed more than a second to do so

Fingers crossed. We need both cars on Q3 and I don't see why they can't both get into Q3 considering the car is fast all weekend so far.

We're in. I'm hoping for at least one car in top 5, so far it looks like we might be able to do it. Red Bull doesn't seem to be super fast today, they may end up fighting with us in the midfield. This bodes well for the next races, it looks like Honda lost more performance than Renault with the change.
