Delay seems reasonable.

NASCAR and Indy Car do it all the time with much larger mobs between races. I looked at Google Maps and Spa is only 3hrs from Zandvoort. That’s like getting from one side of NYC to another.

Oh Toto just said that Perez can race from pitlane.
but will be a lap down wont he ?
The race hasn't started. Even if he is, he would be allowed to UNLAP himself before it's a GO.
They have done 1 lap, and Perez is starting from pitlane, so wont get his lap back.

Perez starts from pitlane yet we are miles into the 3hr race window so the race must have started. How then can we be under parc ferme?

My mind is blown.

There won't be a race for Perez to enter.

Despite the War and Peace book thickness of the rule book, they failed t define when the race starts, in regards to repairing cars, which is pretty incredible and a major oversight.

They are saying that the three hours has started as of 1500 local time, so in 1h45 at 1800, that’ll be that apparently.

Then if that’s so, do they try and just run one lap nominally to allocate points or just leave it as a washout?

Not a Mercedes fan. But explain, they were forbidding him starting and then suddenly through conversation with Mercedes all is good and Perez is starting. How is that normal? It is not.

If Perez is allowed to start. Then surely Mercedes can change to a bigger rear wing because they both hinge around the same fact of the race starting.

I like what they do in some series where they declare a wet race, red flag it, and allow some amount of time for teams to change to their wet weather setups.

Am I right in thinking, we have 1hr 35mins to get this race started, and if it does start, we then have 2hours to get it finished ??

What the hell is going on? How can the race not have technically started?

Chaos.
It looks pretty organised to me.
Agree to disagree.

If the race has started, PER shouldn’t be permitted to rejoin. If the race hasn’t, he should be allowed from the pitlane IMO. But no one has the correct read on this because of the confusion.
