Am I right in thinking, we have 1hr 35mins to get this race started, and if it does start, we then have 2hours to get it finished ??
I THINK so!

No idea though.
no. we need to finish the two hour race within 3 hours.
I dont think thats correct, Mclaren just asking how many laps there will be. 39 laps was the answer if we get started, so we dont need to finish in 3hrs after the original start time.

70% chance to rain tomorrow. Postponing the race might not be a good idea.
I’d imagine there’s lots of reason why they can’t race tomorrow. Availability of staff being a big one.
I point to the American oval series that do it, but I will concede that it is unprecedented in F1.

Also, I can’t believe teams can’t get a simple answer from the FIA…

“How many laps do we have left” , -long winded explanation not answering the question - “so 39?”

No wonder F1 is a such a mess.

I guess this means Sergio is 5 laps down?

It’s a bit of a dilemma now for the race director. Do you run one more procession lap for the hell of it and gift the drivers half points based on grid order or leave it as it is?

Whichever way they call that one, it’ll run and run on here.

Although that could be a theoretical 39 laps notwithstanding time limits! It’s mad how no one seems to know. Even Masi said something was ‘his assumption’!

If there is no actual racing then nobody deserves any points in my opinion. It would be a scandal if people get points from how it is now.

If the race doesnt start, do Stroll and Bottas penalties carry over ?

Don't you need to run a certain % of the race to award half points ?

Damn that’s another flip of a coin decision.

I’m not sure why RBR are bothering to race Perez actually, especially a lap down. Save the engine and any other potential costs in the event of any more damage.

I guess they are just hoping for carnage in front and a lot of cars retiring?

I’ve said it before, but F1 prides themselves on being the ultimate motorsport, yet they time and time again can’t get the fundamentals of running a race correct.

No, they need a certain amount to have whole points.

Two laps apparently, so they could just trundle round for a couple under the safety car arbitrarily.

Yes, but they are unable to decide what would be the point as it would go on time not laps

It os more than 2 for half though
