Doornbos starts testing
Red Bull Racing embarked on a four day test session at the Catalunya circuit today, a few miles up, the motorway from Barcelona. While the city is famous for the free-form wavy line architecture of Gaudi, a more precise and scientific approach was the order of the day at the racetrack.
Test and third driver Robert Doornbos was making his debut at the wheel of the RB2 and enjoyed a trouble-free day in dry conditions. Development of the car's control systems was on the agenda.
Mark Smith, Technical Director "We acquired some good data on that front. We also ran a totally different mechanical set-up on the car to the one we used at the last test and the way the car ran today was very encouraging. We have made a good step forward, but we still have a way to go."
David Coulthard will drive tomorrow and Thursday, with Christian Klien bringing the test to a close on Friday.
