Kobayashi heading into a new world
Former Caterham-racer Kamui Kobayashi will not participate in Formula 1 this year. The Japanese is going to race on home soil as he joins the Super Formula.
The Japanese driver made his debut with the Sauber team in 2010 and raced for them for three years. He could find a seat in 2013, but he made his return in 2014 with Caterham. As the team failed to raise the necessary money for this year, Kobayashi stays without a race seat for the second act of the new turbo era.
The 28-year-old driver is going to race in the Team LeMans alongside Ryo Hirakawa and Kygnus Sunoco. He is going to replace Loic Duval. “I am sure that he will show extraordinary things to the motorsport fans.” – said a Toyota press officier.
The Japanese series is still sees the presence of several successful racing drivers such as Andre Lotterer, James Rossiter or Kazuki Nakajima who won the 2014 campaign.
