Formula One confirms title and teaser date for new Apple Original Films’ F1 movie
Formula 1 and Apple Original Films have confirmed the name of the new movie based around the sport, and starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris while the sport has also confirmed the teaser date.
On the eve of this weekend's British Grand Prix, Formula One has confirmed that the new Apple’s F1 film starring Brad Pitt will be titled F1.
The movie will be directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced Jerry Bruckheimer, Pitt himself and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, among others.
From Apple Original Films, F1 stars Brad Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid. F1 will be distributed in cinemas around the world and in IMAX by Warner Bros.
Pictures, opening only in cinemas in North America on 27 June 2025 and internationally beginning 25 June 2025. Made in collaboration with Formula 1, the new movie is immersed in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1, filmed at various grands prix across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Filming kicked off at last year's British Grand Prix with the work having continued at the Hungaroring, Spa Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.
Footage was also shot at Suzuka at the start of the current season with Silverstone playing host to the filming procedure this weekend again. More footage will be captured at the Hungarian, Belgian, Mexican, Las Vegas and season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later on this year.
Formula One has also confirmed that "Sunday will see a teaser for F1 broadcast on the International Feed just ahead of the British Grand Prix at 1433 BST – giving fans a tantalising first glimpse into the action."
