De Ferran and Nakamoto focus on European GP
Following a race at Imola compromised by unusually bad luck during the pitstops, Sporting Director Gil de Ferran and Honda Racing Development's Engineering Director, Shuhei Nakamoto, are looking ahead to the European GP in two weeks' time.
"We are certainly all disappointed with the final results [at Imola]," commentedGil de Ferran. "However if we had not had such an uncharacteristically bad day in the pits we would most likely have been fighting for a podium position. Our car pace…was competitive and it is onwards and upwards to the Nürburgring now."
The major positives for the team that can be taken away from San Marino are that it managed to eradicate its tyre-warming problem in the two weeks following the Australian GP and that both drivers managed super qualifying results.
However, the team will continue to work 24 hours a day in the next fortnight, making full use of its scheduled test at Silverstone (25-27 April).
"We have not been able to get the best out of the car or ourselves this weekend," said Nakamoto following the San Marino GP, "so we have to refocus for the Nürburgring in two weeks."
