Barrichello eager to build points tally in Spain

With only a week before Round six of the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Honda Racing F1 Team's focus now switches to this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix at the circuit de Cataluyna in Barcelona.

The Circuit de Catalunya is something of a home from home for all of the teams since it is one of F1's primary testing circuits, and Honda’s Rubens Barrichello knows it well: "The Spanish Grand Prix is slightly unusual because we use the circuit so often for testing, so I think we will see that reflected in the performance of all the teams. It's a track I enjoy – although I do get to see rather a lot of it! – and I think we should do well there. “

Honda has conducted eight days and over 7600kms of testing at Catalunya with the RA106 this year, and hopes that this will be one of the factors which helps the team to a successful weekend.

But Barrichello, who successfully held off challenges from both Ralf Schumacher and Giancarlo Fisichella to claim fifth place on Sunday at the Nürburgring, knows there is still work to do to build his championship points tally. “It was good to get some more points at the Nürburgring,” said the Brazilian, “although we lacked a little bit of pace. We have to work to improve on this for the weekend."
