First day for Honda at Vallelunga

The Honda Racing F1 Team started testing at Vallelunga yesterday (Tuesday). The weather conditions have been warm and sunny all day with ambient temperatures of 28˚C and track temperatures reaching 40˚C degrees during the afternoon session.

Third driver Anthony Davidson began the test in chassis RA106-02 completing an aero programme in the morning session over 69 laps. He spent the afternoon running through a tyre programme for the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix, completing a further 58 laps. Anthony completed 127 laps in total today, setting the fastest time of the day – a 01:01.847.

In chassis RA106-06, James Rossiter also worked through an aero evaluation in the morning session. Although his afternoon running was interrupted with a couple of small mechanical problems, James completed a short tyre programme, with a final lap tally for the day of 76 laps.

Jenson Button will join the test tomorrow (Wednesday) taking over in chassis RA106-06. Anthony will continue his running in chassis RA106-02.
