FIA looks for singe tyre supplier
The FIA, Formula One's governing body, has started accepting applications as single tyre supplier for the FIA Formula One World Championship from 2008 to 2010. For now there are 2 suppliers, Bridgestone and Michelin, but the FIA wants only 1 tyre supplier in 2008 to reduce costs.
Bridgestone will be the single tyre supplier in F1 next season as Michelin will pull out of the sport at the end of the 2006 season. This makes Bridgestone the favourites to take the single supplier gig.
The FIA has set the deadline on June 23, 2006.
