Doornbos to Toro Rosso?

Marco Zecchi, the manager of Robert Doornbos, is rumoured to have started talks with Berger and Mateschitz. In the paddock there have been whispers that Scott Speed's position would be under fire. Toro Rosso would also be attracted by the big amount of sponsor money the Dutchman could bring in for the team.

Doornbos made his Grand Prix debut with Minardi in 2005 and moved to Red Bull in 2006 as test- and reserve driver. The last 3 races, the Dutchman took over from Christian Klien, who got fired.

As David Coulthard and Mark Webber have been announced as race driver for Red Bull in 2007, Doornbos was eagerly looking for a race seat with another team. Now it seems that Red Bull's sister team, Toro Rosso, may be the solution for Doornbos.
