Sauber confident prior to Malaysian GP

For the first time in the 2007 Formula One season, Peter Sauber will be present when Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld enter the battle for World Championship points in Malaysia. The consultant of the BMW Sauber F1 Team is confident the team will be able to prove its current good form in Sepang as well.

"The result of the next Grand Prix on April 8th in Malaysia will have more significance than those in Australia because Sepang demands high aerodynamic efficiency and a good balance of the cars. Additionally, the track is very challenging on the rear tyres due to its special characteristics," Peter Sauber analyses the second race on the 2007 Formula One season.

Currently, the BMW Sauber F1 Team is already in Malaysia conducting test drives on the 'Sepang International Circuit'. Due to the temperatures, which regularly reach 40 degrees Celsius on race weekends, the teams regard the South-East Asian event as a real test of man and material.

"I am confident the BMW Sauber F1.07 will also be able to prove its ability to perform in these conditions because we have made great progress regarding the aerodynamics since the switch to a three-shift system in the wind tunnel and the start of our supercomputer Albert2," says Sauber full of optimism prior to the second race weekend of the year and continues: "We have plenty of reason to look forward to the next races! I will personally be in the pit lane for the Malaysian GP, and I hope our positive development will continue at my season premiere.
