We won't settle back - Heidfeld

By on

Having secured two consecutive fourth places, Nick Heidfeld has delivered the best start to a season of his entire Formula One career. However, the German, who currently holds fourth position in the Drivers' Championship, has no intention of resting on his laurels.

"I'm completely happy with my achievements in the first two GP weekends," says Heidfeld, regarding his performances in Australia and Malaysia. "For the team, however, things could have run better. We didn't score the maximum points with both our cars. Renault is two points behind but taking a look at the performance, our lead should be much bigger."

Prior to the Bahrain GP, having scored ten points in two races, the BMW Sauber F1 Team holds third position in the Constructors' Championship. "I would be happy if we could consolidate this position," says Nick. "This doesn't mean that we are going to settle back now. Everybody gives his very best, and we hope that we will be able to reduce the gap to Ferrari and McLaren. No matter whether we have exceeded our expectations or not so far this season - this won't make any impact on our motivation. We want to make further progress on our way to the top."
