Opted for Paul Ricard to test on two different track layouts - Heidfeld

The BMW Sauber F1 Team has scored points in all four rounds of the 2007 season so far. To have the chance of continuing this streak of success in the forthcoming Grands Prix, the team will work on further improvements to the F1.07 this week, with Paul Ricard the venue for four days of testing.

"We opted for testing at Paul Ricard as you can test on two different track layouts there," explains Nick Heidfeld. "On the first two days, we will test on the short version to prepare for Monaco, and then, as preparation for Canada, we will continue on the longer track layout."

The variety of track layouts at the state-of-the-art "Circuit Paul Ricard" suit the BMW Sauber F1 Team well. After all, the Spanish Grand Prix represented the start of the "hot" period of the season, when the races are held in a regular two-week rhythm or even as back-to-back events. The fifth round of the season, the Monaco Grand Prix, will be held on 27th May, followed by the Canadian and US Grands Prix, which will be held on two consecutive weekends.

Therefore the tests at Paul Ricard are used as preparation for both the race at the Principality and the North American rounds. On the first day, testing duties for the BMW Sauber F1 Team will be undertaken by Timo Glock.
