Montoya applauds McLaren exit of Alonso
Former McLaren Mercedes driver Juan Pablo Montoya, currently racing in NASCAR, once again defended Fernando Alonso. The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', reported that Montoya understands how Alonso feels as he experienced a similar situation at the Woking-based team.
Juan Pablo Montoya said: "I understand Fernando. I felt the same way. The situation of Alonso was one similar to mine. He never felt comfortable in the team and the arrival of Lewis Hamilton did not help."
The Colombian applauds the decision of the double World Champion to leave McLaren: "One cannot be where he does not feel comfortable."
