Another hearing scheduled for today
With all the commotion going on about the fact that Renault escaped a penalty yesterday, we would forget that there is another hearing at Monaco today. McLaren will once again face the WMSC into the "spygate" row that saw them stripped of their constructors' points and fined a record $100 million.
The Woking-based team was punished for possessing a confidential 780-page technical document belonging Ferrari. They were punished, but the FIA decided that a new WMSC in December was necessary as they were going to look into the 2008 McLaren car to ensure that no Ferrari data was used.
A team of independent legal and technical experts visited the McLaren headquarters last month to assess the team's design for their 2008 Formula One car. During today's hearing, the World Motor Sport Council will go through this information and they will decide if they have to impose any further penalties. A possible penalty could be a negative points allocation at the start of the 2008 Formula One season.
