Verstappen has been getting away with stuff that anybody else would get penalized for. When will the the stewards say enough?

Alright. So, some observations

- At Silverstone, Team Hamilton was complaining that there were some Verstappen fans arguing in favor of a race ban. This time, some in Team Hamilton are arguing for a race ban.
- At Silverstone, Team Hamilton was saying Max should have left room. Now, Lewis didn't need to leave any room.
- Team Hamilton complains that Verstappen says "yield or we will crash" - the same attitude that Hamilton showed at Silverstone.

If there's any symmetry here, it's between camps...
This was a racing incident with Max to blame. Silverstone was a racing incident with Lewis to blame. That time Lewis was lucky, this time neither is.
This.

Both signaled that they won't back off, sadly its things outside of track that could decide the competition I'm afraid.

FIA doesn’t penalize based on consequences which is what you’re calling for here.
And yet it was exactly what some of Max's fan on here were clamouring for after Silverstone. Sauce for the goose...
It was also what High ups at RedBull themselves where screaming for.

The call for a ban isn't for me based on the incident, it's based on his comments. "That's what you get" knowing where his car had been and without any regard to the safety of a fellow driver..

Indeed so. As I say, sauce for the goose.

What a great idea the HALO was
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E_GKyQ1X0AA ... name=large
It still hit Lewis on the head which is not good so these need developing further, maybe add more height because if that happens to George (one of the taller drivers) it could be death right there.
That is true.

If you make it higher though, does it mean they just make the bars thicker or will the clearance below it change? If they make that clearance bigger then you'd open up new risks from debris coming below the Halo (like in Massa's accident). If you make it thicker, then it starts affecting aerodynamics and CoG. Would have a lot to work on.
This was my solution to it. High Halo. The roll hoop would have to be much taller though. Like the tea-pot cars in the seventies.

Ban is maybe too harsh, but definitely some penalty
Yeah, no way a ban lol. A grid penalty is all thats needed.
What for? The gap Verstappen went for was perfectly reasonable:

Excellent post. There was a gap, Verstappen went for it, Hamilton ought to have left more space. A racing incident.

Its that 'That's what you get.' comment from Verstappen. Yield to me or we will crash.

Interesting that he didn't even look back to see if Hamilton was hurt when walking off after parking his car on hid head. So much for all that stuff about showing compassion...

The whole thing is slightly chilling .
That's just disturbing. This was the same guy screaming how he was nearly killed and screaming for a race ban. Now he causes a collision, heavily suggesting it was intentional, literally drove over someones head while doing so, and then acts like nothing is wrong. If anything, this does sound like some very reasonable arguments for a race ban.
Don’t be ridiculous. Max obviously couldn’t have known his car came over Hamilton’s halo or head. When he exited the car, RedBull was resting on Merc’s nose. Max actually paused to have a look back after exiting the car and Hamilton is revving his car to get out from under the RedBull. So, Max obviously thought there was no physical harm done to Hamilton.

If anything, I thought Lewis trying to get his car going while Max is climbing out of the cockpit is more dangerous.

If people still blaming Hamilton for not leaving space, please take a look at lap one situation as well (15.08) same thing but Hamilton avoided a crash. Verstappen could have done the same, but didn’t.

IMO verstappen gets away with too much. But that’s me.

That was immedialy after start and there were other cars very closed. You can do very little in this situation at first lap. Is an other story cannot compare.

How? If a car is "significantly alongside", it's a corner for both cars. Definitely not one car's when that car is coming from pit with colder tyres and brakes, missing the turn 1 apex.
When the inside car is ahead on braking, he is entitled to the racing line. If you don't agree with that, tell me why Verstappen was able to squeeze Hamilton off track at Roggia in Turn 1 (note: Verstappen was on the inside, and ahead under braking)?
Exactly correct! I have no idea why people are fighting this so much . Max should have backed out or aborted, instead he sent it as he knew he was about to lose points to Lewis. Simple.

Definitely not just you. In the past he didn't even get a slap on the wrist for things others had been handed out grid penalties (or worse) for.

Ricciardo had a chance to challenge Max yesterday in the sprint race and decided to back out of it with him later explaining there is no room for 2 cars at turn 2. Verstappen fully knows this but he went for the move anyway. Deserves a 3 to 5 grid drop for the next race. The guy never races fairly. I’m just so sick of it.
completely agree
exactly this
Ricciardo just talked about this, and guess what, he thinks it's a racing incident, sausage's curb fault.

Well isn’t that convenient. 🤣
