cost himself a lot of points and punted RB into 3rd in the Constructors.
It's been established in the WDC Max hasn't cost himself any points today, in fact he lost less than with a clean race where norris wins easily.

Max punted RB into 3rd? lol? Dude, ferrari is 25 points ahead right now. In best case scenario Verstappen today finishes 4th instead of 6th which is a whole 4 points difference. RB team itself with the 4th best car and a washed teammate punted RB into 3rd, absolutely nothing to do with Max (who leads the WDC btw).

I don't know what you're on about here.

Red Bulls race pace, particularly in the 2nd half of the last 2 races has been utterly nowhere.

Couldn't even close a gap to a broken merc in this race.

WCC for RBR was gone months ago when Checo struggled to even get a point.

It was inevitable others would get it this year. Even before the summer break

Seems like an overreaction indeed.
No. What Max did today was dangerous, the stewards needed to draw a line in the sand.
Indeed Max had absolutely no need to be that aggressive, cost himself a lot of points and punted
RB into 3rd in the Constructors.
The pressure of McL on the stewards seems to have paid off.
If McLaren were that good, they'd have won the right to appeal the last race and had the
5 second penalty removed. I like hard racing that's far, which isn't what Max did today.
He can race far better than that.
It wasn't dangerous. Perez-Lawson was far more dangerous and nothing was said or done about it.
It was dangerous, but we shall have to agree to disagree on that.
The constructors is not an objective anymore. The car is too slow and Perez nowhere. The team is at peace with the 3rd place. The only thing RB is playing is the world driver championship for the end of the season.
It's pretty embarrasing for a team to go from dominating everything to probably finishing third in the constructors. If Max continues as is, he might end up losing the title. All he has to do is be sensible and bring the car home in the top 5 assuming Ferrari lock out the wins from McLaren.
McLaren failed to provide a new element for their review. They couldn't even accept to review it. But there are zero doubts that without last week and the press campaign after , Max would only have had a 5s or 10s penalty.
McLaren didn't get to appeal the previous race on a technicality. Just the way things go in F1.
The FIA are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I think people have to face the reality. Max will not finish ahead of Norris or any Ferrari in any remaining GP. There are no major upgrades coming. The car is what it is. It is slow, and it eats the tires.

Brazil has always been a weakness in this era. The car has no front end for a track like Qatar. Tire deg with be enormous. Las Vegas is full of bumps, curbs, and brake zones. Abu Dhabi is only slow corners. There is no situation where Red Bull will be faster. On top of that, all of the remaining tracks have large back to back DRS zones. If you are slow, you will be overtaken. It doesn't matter where you qualify.

With the speed that Norris showed at the end of the GP, he will win the championship.

Keeping Perez is definitely paying off. Great work by RB management.

...

He only deserved a 5s penalty like Norris had last race but the stewards decided to target him unfairly due to the press campaign against Verstappen that is gaining traction due to the supremacy of the british press around the F1 world.
The reason Lando only got a 5s penalty last week was BECAUSE Max also failed to make the corner despite being the defending driver. That was a very different incident to either today.

Should Max have gotten 20s in penalties today? No, I don't think so. I think if he gave the position back then the Stewards don't even look at either incident and then it's purely down to Max and RBR to execute the best race they could.

Clearly I am not a neutral observer, but I do not think the Stewards were fair to Max today.

Perez was asked by Sky after the race if he thought he would be driving in the Mexico GP next year, and he said: "Yes, 100 percent". What info does he have on Horner. lol?

More money available for the Catering budget next season from finishing 3rd in WCC though....

Did he say what team he'd be driving for?

Hehe, I thought the same. Might be VCARB, they should have asked if he would drive the Red Bull.

Must be the blackest of mail. I would be far less confident of him being there next week imo #-o

To improve the mood even if it looks impossible, but if Max finishes ahead of Lando in the next 2 races he is champion again. Lando needs to gain on Max at least 12 points every race to win the WDC. Now we need for Ferrari to dominate until the end, or Lando taking some third and second places. The difference between being in the second and fourth place is just 6 points.

I would say one way or another, Verstappen gave its absolute best with the third best car in the second part of the season.

In none of the remaining tracks Red Bull will be faster than McLaren, so Max is bound to be always behind Lando in race. Hope is that Ferrari can keep this form and prevent Lando from gaining the points he needs. For the first time I feel the wdc is in real danger.

Maybe Perez was source of Hornergate.
