That's what happened to Webber last year.n smikle wrote:Car bottomed out it seems. But no matter.. That is what happens when the driver's psyche is stronger than the limits of the car... He will still get pole though.. Fastest sector 1, that is good news.
Yeah no problem with that. For all the damage it wasn't a heavy impact at all. The front corner brushed the wall at a harmless angle.rfs wrote:It sounds like Lewis's car isn't fatally damaged then. Will he be able to run all of FP2?
According to Legard via twitter MacMerc dont yet know if it will need a new tub (they are hoping it wont).univex wrote:Yeah no problem with that. For all the damage it wasn't a heavy impact at all. It looked serious though didn't it? Like a crumpled like a piece of foil.univex wrote:Yeah no problem with that. For all the damage it wasn't a heavy impact at all. He hit the wall a shallow angle and only really had impact with the front wing and wheel. From tv footage I could only imagine that the tub, if damaged, would be damaged at the suspension pick up points. IMO the damage looked far more serious than the actual accident. All relative to the extremes of F1 of course. In a road car they would at least be in hospital.rfs wrote:It looked serious though didn't it?
