Mclaren is faster than Ferrari at this track... Yeah I know its practice, but I see the signs..

That's what happened to Webber last year.

Interestingly kubica was holding the F-duct through 130R.

Ferrari's haven't shown their pace as yet, Redbulls looking mammoth through the esses, Mclaren having issues with the bumps.

It sounds like Lewis's car isn't fatally damaged then. Will he be able to run all of FP2?

Yeah no problem with that. For all the damage it wasn't a heavy impact at all. The front corner brushed the wall at a harmless angle.

It looked serious though didn't it? Like a crumpled like a piece of foil.

He hit the wall a shallow angle and only really had impact with the front wing and wheel. From tv footage I could only imagine that the tub, if damaged, would be damaged at the suspension pick up points. IMO the damage looked far more serious than the actual accident. All relative to the extremes of F1 of course. In a road car they would at least be in hospital.

Plus, we've all seen how easily the McLaren suspension collapses on impact with anything really.
