Wth does reprimand for Pirelli mean, its not like they did anything... weird to add that especially since FIA cant touch pirelli.

So Ferrari never tested this year? But Red Bull did?
The stewards asked the Pirelli representatives about which teams have been
involved in tyre testing. They answered that during 2012 it was only Ferrari and
this year Red Bull (sic) and Mercedes.

Im surprised the FIA personnel didn't get a slap on the wrist and told to do a better job in the future.

i think the verdict says it all really in terms of the FIA making a mess of things.

A simple analogy then ( Sorry Richard Leeds ! )
10 kids walk into a shop. 1 steals a candy bar, eats it but got caught - to punish him they give the other 9 kids a candy bar , but tell them only their kid brothers may eat it .

The YTD is when the teams can do proper development work. The Pirelli test by all accounts was rather limited.

Chris Horner to Paul Hembery: "no hard feeling, right?"

Paul Hembery "I'll let my tires do the talking, see you later Chris."

I agree, the FIA were very fuzzy with their feeback about the proposed test which left them in a very bad position. They should be clear, concise and lead from the front.

Tribunal

What a farce of a decision. Just a reprimand for clearly breaking the rules. Does this mean that other teams can now do the same and get away with a reprimand? cheap bit of testing. Even Nikki knew that Merc were guilty and brokered a deal with Bernie to pay a large fine, but Wolff and Brawn would not play ball.

It is unbelievable.

They did an ilegal test with his main drivers and all they get is a ban on this year's YDT.

I disagree completely.

The communication between Mercedes and the FIA is enough to conclude that there was no intention of breaking the rules.
They asked for clarification and Whiting said it was possible.

Lauda didn't "know" Mercedes where guilty, he didnt want a public show that could end up damaging the team.
Wolff and Brawn had grounds to go to the tribunal, and the tribunal decision vindicates Brawn and Wolffs decision.

Why did Mercedes test, what did they EXACTLY gain? Why was FIA involved? Let's forget about all that. FIA had everything in hand and decided that the mildest slap on the wrist is enough.

No wonder Mercedes declined no-tribunal fine when the could choose themselves a penalty, how convenient. This stinks, everything was staged :o , there was more in the phone conversations with Whiting they did not want to reveal.

How telling is it that the FIA will have to pick up one third of the legal bill for the tribunal?
