You realise his 3rd engine is still good, right? It was an external water leak, not an engine failure.iotar__ wrote:Tell us about the engines Toto. Decisive stage of the championship and Rosberg's perfect Mercedes engines start exploding one after another just like last season.
That almost sounds like a stunt FIA would pull...Just_a_fan wrote:Hamilton and Vettel were outspoken about the tyres last week. Perhaps they're going to be taught to be good boys and keep their mouths shut...
Yes you are totally spot on. Toto pushed the super secret "explode engine" button on Nico's car. Because a blown up merc engine sure serves them as a great marketing gadget. And Nico kind of having the downside in the team is a big conspiracy because he is obviously faster then Ham and a fair play driver also...iotar__ wrote:Tell us about the engines Toto. Paper win, paper second place, paper championship and they celebrate as if they beat someone. I bet Lauda will explain that it was understeering balance that caused a fire and burning old engines are quicker. Pathetic team.
- Are we likely to be racing anyone at the end - Ricciardo asks
- No, but push 100% because that's how people on the internet think classic F1 looked like
- Only joking turn everything down and cruise for 30 laps stupid, it's a one stop race with no competition
Not quite , because they said yes and he gained one place but you get the point. The first one is real.
This issue was timed at 15:04 so it was before last three laps so I guess it will go to the stewards.langwadt wrote:from formula1.comJust_a_fan wrote:Any idea what that penalty would be? 25 seconds?Tim.Wright wrote:Wonder if they are expecting a post race penalty for fuel use.
If the penalty is issued in the last three laps of the race, the driver is permitted to complete the race and take a time penalty. Five seconds will be added in lieu of a five-second penalty; 10 seconds for the optional ten-second penalty; 20 seconds for a drive-through; and 30 seconds for the mandatory ten-second penalty.
Nico's infringement is worse. He would have been punished too.matt_b wrote:Luckily for Lewis Nico didn't finish thus a 28 point gap will still remain, worst case scenario of course.
Right, but a DSQ won't affect Nico's score line.LionKing wrote:Nico's infringement is worse. He would have been punished too.matt_b wrote:Luckily for Lewis Nico didn't finish thus a 28 point gap will still remain, worst case scenario of course.

So they only measured the Mercs and Ferraris? Seems like a fair deal...
He will be, 2 laps behind is still counts as qualified.LionKing wrote:Nico's infringement is worse. He would have been punished too.matt_b wrote:Luckily for Lewis Nico didn't finish thus a 28 point gap will still remain, worst case scenario of course.
Yeah bit unfair, what about Williams? Or all the other teams for that matter? You can't measure one thing like that and not measure it for all teams.kaller wrote:So they only measured the Mercs and Ferraris? Seems like a fair deal...
The point is that Nico not finishing does not matter. As in if Lewis gets DSQed, so would have Nico if he did finish.Moose wrote:Right, but a DSQ won't affect Nico's score line.LionKing wrote:Nico's infringement is worse. This is the normal operating way of F1. They can't check every parameter of every car, so they check a random selection each race of features, and they check a random selection of cars.SiLo wrote:Yeah bit unfair, what about Williams?
