Should be a good race. Lewis always has better race pace that Bottas so could be a good battle, although its rubbish for overtaking.

Only way this could turn boring is if they get away in the same order and Lewis is stuck behind Bottas while Max runs off.

Would Merc move Bottas over in pursuit of Max?

On the Hungaroring? Pitstop battle perhaps.
The chance of rain passed so the typical snooze-fest is a sure bet.

As for the race I think every top team starting on M tyres is on a 1 stop M-H race, maybe M-S-S for Ferrari.
It would be interesting who could stretch the first stint on them ...

Why not M-S? It's supposed to be a low degradation track.

Possible strategies

I can't fathom how can S-M one stopper be here and not M-S.
The soft tire suffers with high fuel loads more than the medium.

Haas (Grosjean at least, not 100% sure about Magnussen) is running the same wing configuration as in Hockenheim, so that probably explains the high top speed. It results in high tyre wear though

But the soft has more chance of lasting in the final stint than it does in the first stint. So if Pirelli are saying its ok to go S-M. It makes no sense to not mention M-S

The cars start with max weight, so all tires have to deal with more load. Pirelli from the above illustration seems to think the soft could be stretched to 24-30 laps, but not 35-40 it would need to do to end the race (doing a reasonable pace) if it had started on the medium.

I dont think Pirelli is saying a M-S is not doable, they are simply saying that a M-H is quicker.
